Lum

Lum live hidden in nature, away from human civilization. They are strong beings that can live for hundreds of years. Humans are well aware of their existence but Lum do not put themselves in contact with humans very often. Lums often live where most humans would not dare to go. They are similar to humans in many ways. Lums are very intelligent but they choose to not to live like humans do. Their connection with nature is very strong and they do not want to break it. Overall, Lums are gentle creatures and do not mind humans.

General Anatomy
The way a Lum's body looks is very similar to a human but it functions very differently inside. Being very connected to nature, their body is supported by the plant life which grows on it. Their Eye-flowers and other growths allow them to live up to thousands of years. They always have two Eye-flowers on their head and these connect to their brain. All other Eye-flowers have the main purpose of telling the host of it's surroundings and possibly something dangerous that can not been seen be the main eyes located on the Lum's face. Lum can not see out of the Eye-flowers. When they are full-grown, their height can be from 4'5" to 6'11".

Life/Social interaction
For many years, Lums were very nomadic. Lums usually traveled in groups of 10 to 15. These groups were all female or all male. They group together based on gender. Lums of different genders usually get together when they want to breed. They don't actively seek to breed. If they happen to run into the opposite gender then they are likely to breed. If a Lum really connects with a Lum of the other gender, they sometimes will stray from their groups and live together as a pair. There are Lums that still live this way, but some have turned to a more human like lifestyle.

Ohhhh, so that's why they have two flowers on their heads... Okay, that sounds logical.
